Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 17, 2026
Overview
Parseli is a Chrome extension and web application that generates quiz
questions from your ChatGPT and Claude conversations. Your privacy is
important to us. This policy explains what data we collect and how we
use it.
Waitlist
If you join our educator waitlist, we collect:
- Your email address
-
Optional survey responses (such as what you teach and your challenges
with quizzes)
We use this information solely to contact you about Parseli updates and
launch announcements. We do not sell or share this data with third
parties. Waitlist data is collected through
Tally, a privacy-focused form provider.
Free Tier - Local Storage Only
If you use Parseli without creating an account, all data stays on your
device:
- Quiz questions generated from your conversations
- Your quiz progress and scores
- Quiz history for review
No data is transmitted to external servers. Everything is stored locally
using Chrome's built-in storage API.
Premium Tier - Cloud Storage
If you create an account and subscribe to Parseli Premium, we store
additional data to enable cloud sync and premium features:
- Your email address (for account identification)
- Authentication tokens (to keep you logged in)
- Your subscription status
- Quiz data synced to the cloud (questions, progress, scores)
This data is stored securely using
Appwrite, a privacy-focused backend platform.
Educator Tier - Student Privacy (Coming Soon)
The Educator tier is designed with student privacy as a core principle.
Here's how we handle data:
-
No student accounts: Students access quizzes via
short codes—no sign-up required
-
No student PII collected: We do not collect student
names, emails, or any personally identifiable information
-
Anonymous analytics: Quiz results are associated with
anonymous codes (like "7X3K"), not student identities
-
Educator-controlled mapping: If educators want to
track individual students, they maintain their own code-to-name
mapping outside of Parseli
-
Local-only name resolution: If an educator uploads a
mapping file to view names in their dashboard, it is processed
entirely on their device and never sent to our servers
Because Parseli does not collect or store student personally
identifiable information, many typical FERPA and COPPA compliance
concerns do not apply. Full privacy details for the Educator tier will
be published upon launch.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed by
Lemon Squeezy, our Merchant of Record. We do not store your credit card information.
Lemon Squeezy handles all payment data in compliance with PCI-DSS
standards.

explicitly generate)
- We do not use your data for advertising
- We do not collect student personally identifiable information
